LEICESTER Speedway boss Stewart Dickson is urging fans to stay behind the club – with the owners counting the cost of no racing so far this year.
Dickson has paid tribute to the Bates family who remain committed to staging racing at the Paul Chapman and Sons Arena this year.
British Speedway promoters are understood to be aiming for an August start if everything falls into place and government officials give the green light.
“More than ever this is a time to show your support to our brilliant owners here at Leicester Speedway,” he said.
“They are committed and are as keen to see competitive racing this year as anyone else I know.
“Unfortunately the owners still have to pay the monthly rent to the landlord as per so many businesses in Britain, It’s great to know our owners are determined to get our two teams on track (Lions & Cubs) as soon as possible. I cannot thank them enough.”
LEICESTER SPEEDWAY are sponsored by Watling JCB at Championship level and Roger Webster in the National League. The club once again offer their sincere thanks for all sponsorship at this difficult time.
